China Square Beef Noodles – Tasty beef noodles with a raw beef option

Dry, soup, or with rice, the various China Square Beef Noodles are equally tasty. There’s even an option to have raw beef or cooked beef, depending on how you like your meats.
The dry Beef Noodle ($5) comes drenched in a thick, dark sauce and a healthy helping of beef sauce. The sauce has just a bit of herbal taste, but not overly starchy. Even though it was supposed to be the dry version, the generous sauce made the dish feel like a thicker, less soupy beef noodles. The white rice noodles didn’t really seem to soak up the sauce, even though it was blanched just nice for that springy texture.

The bowl of beef soup is much clearer, but don’t be deceived by the clear broth as it's full of flavour. The chunky beef slices weren’t exactly very tender and I could see slivers of pink. I prefer my beef cooked slightly, with a firm bite but still tender so this was how I liked it.
